We had such an overwhelmingly positive response that it has taken ages to narrow the finalists down. It is our most successful contest to date in terms of entries. For this reason, Black Lawrence Press will offer the Black River Chapbook Competition twice a year so that it will be easier to manage the entries more efficiently, and also give writers more than one opportunity per year to enter. Deadlines for upcoming competitions are November 30, 2006 (fall) and May 31, 2007 (spring).
